What are some of your favorite memories from your time at the DuBois Area School District?

Meeting some of my best friends there!

 

Were there any teachers, coaches, or classes that had a lasting impact on you?

Mr. Wayne

 

What activities, clubs, or sports were you involved in as a student?

I was involved in the art program, side line cheer, and competition cheer.

 

Tell us about your current career or professional role. What does a typical day look like for you?  

As a stylist, I combine creativity and technical skill to build meaningful relationships with my clients at. A typical day at CAB Salon includes consultations, color services, extension installations or maintenance, cutting and styling, and educating clients on at-home care. I love that my career allows me to help people feel confident while doing something creative every day.

 

What led you to pursue this career path?

I have just always known that I wanted to do hair.

 

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

The smile on the client's face when you show them their hair.

 

Have you received any recognitions, awards, or achieved milestones you're especially proud of?

No

 

How did your experiences at the DuBois Area School District help prepare you for your career or further education?

They taught us that college isn’t the only option; trades are amazing, too.

 

If you could go back to high school, what goal-setting advice do you wish someone had given you?

Set goals that actually excite you.

 

How do you define success, and how has that definition evolved over time? 

Building a life that is happy and fulfilling with my fiancé.  

 

What skills or habits do you believe are most important for students to develop while they're in school? 

Learning more life skills.

 

How do you stay connected to the DuBois Area School District community or give back to others? 

I give back to the DuBois community by supporting other local businesses and building lasting relationships with my clients. I’m proud to serve the area I grew up in and to help people here feel confident and cared for.
