Survey for Online Learning

The DuBois Area School District is aggressively preparing to launch an online learning platform to educate our students. We acknowledge that we, as well as many other school districts across the nation, are in uncharted waters in our attempt to provide continuity within our educational system.

Prior to the start of our online learning, we need to ensure that all students have internet access and technology devices. The two items necessary for online learning include internet access and a device. The list of adequate devices would include Chromebooks, desktops, laptops, iPads, and tablets. Due to limited resource availability from our vendors, please examine your needs and ask for only what is necessary. If your household does not have internet access, you may request one hotspot for use only for educational purposes. If your student(s) do not have devices, you may request one device per student.

To make a request, please complete this Google survey, or call the district office at 371-2700.

Once we are able to fully develop our plan to transition to an online learning platform, we will present our plan to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for approval. At this time, we are uncertain if we will receive permission to launch an online program. Please be advised that we are planning for online learning with the hope that we receive approval to implement our plan.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

The DuBois Area School District is closely monitoring and is making the necessary preparations in case the COVID-19 becomes more prevalent in our community. For now, there have been no indications of a coronavirus outbreak in Jefferson or Clearfield counties, but that could change as time goes on.

We are actively monitoring the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control for situational updates and when appropriate, making procedural adjustments as recommended by those agencies. All buildings are enhancing efforts to clean, disinfect, and sanitize our schools. Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer dispensers are readily available.

Please take a moment to read Superintendent Wendy Benton's letter to parents regarding the coronavirus for more information.
